Need some of you guru's advice on some engine codes I've gotten recently:
321 No 18x ignition pulses
361 EST line not toggling
Symptoms:
Turn car on from sitting for awhile, check engine light came on, turn off car within a minute, and restart. Check engine light no longer on. Car otherwise is running fine, no misfires, not erratic, nothing. Only does this once a month or once every few months sometimes.
Car specs:
1994 Buick Regal
3.8 L Engine

I assume you mean the following:
DTC P0321 Ignition/Distributor/CKPS Engine Speed Input Circuit Range/Performance
DTC P0361 Ignition Coil K Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
Check wires, plugs, coils & crank sensor.

Where is the crankshaft sensor located on the 3.8L V6 engine? Pictures would be helpful. Is there any documentation on testing the coils?

Need an ID:
1. Right side of engine below the EGR.

2. Behind engine, near the spark plugs.

The crank position sensor is located behind the harmonic balancer. The balancer will need to be removed to access it.
When testing the coils primary resistance, use a paper clip to insert into the primary side terminals. (Female - Bottom side of coil) and place the two leads of your DMM on these to check resistance. On the secondary side, simply place the leads across the two coil output terminals and set your meter for reading K-ohm. The specs for resistance are:
Delco ignition: Primary (ohms) = 0.5-0.9 (ohms) Secondary = (k-ohm) 5.0-8.0

I'm going to pull those tomorrow and check them.

Pulled the 3 coil packs off the car this morning, tested the primary and secondary resistance. Secondary between poles was around 6K Ohms which was good, I could not get a reading on the primary for any of them. I tried using paper clips, however my ohm meter would read to 0 (mine defaults to the highest reading when there is no signal). Put both leads from the meter together to check and adjusted to 0. Still reading 0 on the primary circuit. Any ideas?
The MM does state that is has a 2kohm sensitivity which might explain why it's reading 0, this is also a regular MM not a DMM.

Still having issues with this one, anybody else who has some ideas or had similar issues?

With check engine light ON; car runs without missing, backfiring etc. Shifts through all gears fine, seems sluggish though, not as much acceleration as when the light is off.
