This number is from the tag on the LH FRont spring,
Can any one identify the ride FE1, FE2, Etc?

ride seems real stiff...

Thanks

Honestly.... the differences between all the variations isn't noticeable. We're talking mm size differences here.

Well, I have the shop manual and it lists one of the probable cause of 1-"soft ride" 2- "harsh ride" as having the wrong springs.

Anything is possible including the previous owner installed springs from other "J" body vehicles with a heavier motor Etc.... I know that it happens, i seen that a man put springs from a 409 under a car that had a 327 in it , sat up two inches higher and rode like a brick.... I wanted to know if the number I gave was the proper parts for a base cavalier with FE1 suspension:rolleyes:

Call a GM dealership then.

There's a huge difference between a 327 and a 409 (small block changes to big block at 396 I believe), the only two engines that could be in your car are the 2.2 and the 2.4, and I can't see the 2.4 weighing more than 50 lbs more than the 2.2... we're talking the same weight as a week's worth of groceries for a small family or 1/3 of a typical passenger, not hundreds of pounds of engine and a bigger tranny. I have done hundreds of struts/springs on all sorts of FWD cars, and very few have different ones for different size engines. I4-V6 yes, but not 2.2-2.4

Exactly, but if no one wants to listen to me then I could care less.

Even funnier because all the performance suspensions are exactly the same no matter what model 95-05 whether it be a Z24, RS, LS sport, etc...

A company as efficient as GM wouldn't have multiple part numbers for the exact same thing, they must be different!

22132807 came on green, blue and red cars, white and yellow got the 22132808...
