Is it a "new tool", or they copied one of the existing kits?
At $50 a pop, isn't it cheaper to buy a Fujimi kit?

Hmm..dunno....

But I do know I paid the same for my RMoM GTO engine and I imagine that it's better than this one :)
(do RMoM still make/sell their 250 engine kits? SWB and GTO?)

No, RMMD don't sell or make their 250 Engines anymore.

Saw it yesterday on the mediamixhobby site and was going to ask the same question.

Anyone has better details about it? There was someone posting the Hobby design news around here, maybe he/she could help?

It sure looks good but it costs a bit and it's meant for a kit that already has an engine, not to mention that it's cheaper to buy the Revell or Italeri kit and those also contain the engine.

But it a Ferrari part.

That means of course there's demand for it.

If you make it, people will buy it. There's more than room for it in the market- people are demanding yet another 250 engine! Can't you hear them?? Just like they demanded three different Enzo kits! And five 430s! And 250s! And Calis! Can't you hear them chanting, calling constantly-

PLEASE - GIVE US - MORE - FERRARI - CRAP - NOW!!!

Even if it's just the same Ferrari crap, again and again.

What manufacturer could resist? :dunno:

Props to Tamiya for resisting the calls of the masses, and putting out their new Altima kit! :grinyes:

Haha. Why can't we have more Aston Martin crap! This is coming from a tifosi!

why don't we all just build the crap we already have in our stashes instead of bitchin' about the newly released crap that we are never going to build anyway or pining for other, unproduced crap that we haven't got yet to add to the pile of unbuilt crap we already have etc. Ad nauseum (if you see what I mean ;) )

I'm sure that as soon as you convince Aston Martin Ltd of the wisdom of licensing their brand name and designs for models, we will finally see the Aston kits we're waiting for.

Can I help it if I'm chuffed about the Altima? :p Shizuoka is just weeks away, it can't be long now!!

Differential looks like a new tool. It seems to me that this kit tries to replace the plastic crap that Fujimi calls "engine block" and "differential". Price is too high, quality doesn't look convincing and others have already done it (better). HRM has similar engine in their line also.

I thought they were going to release the new Prius? I'd sell all my unbuilt Ferrari models just to buy enough Priuses to paint one in every color!

Has anyone seen the HRM GTO engine kit? Is it new or a watered down RMM? Being friends/neighbors I had hoped when Norm Veber retired his RMM product line would be sold to Harold Bradford at HRM.

Andy, I admit the GTO has been overdone. I'd like to see more prewar stuff like Alfa 8c2900, Miller's, Auto Unions, Silver Arrows, Bugatti's, but it ain't gonna happen....

I personally have not seen HRM GTO engine.
I don't think that Fujimi GTO engine is that bad really, I think with some work it can look spectacular.

That would be a dream come true :), but what should I do with my stash of Ferrari's then?! :grinyes:

could it be a reworking of an existing engine kit?
That rear diff bears a resemblance to the one as found in the MFH 250TRI kits but with the mounting arms removed.

All other 250 kit engines that I can't think of have a different diff case.
Actually on second thoughts, does anyone have a good photo of the rear diff in the fujimi kit?
I haven't gotten one of those yet.

Me too. And while they're at it, all those interesting postwar cars: Maseratis, Talbot Lagos, Delahayes, OSCAs, Frazer Nashes, Gordinis, HWMs, Cunninghams, Allards, Kurtises, Devins etc.

And sprint cars from back when they actually looked like race cars.

At least 17 people are clamoring for these subjects. Like you say, ain't gonna happen. Shame and a pity.

I just got off the phone with Norm Veber and boy am I feeling like a Moe-Ron for spreading false info.:loser:

Stories of Norm Veber retiring AND his parts being unavailable are just plain untrue. He said virtually everything in his Ferrari range (including the SWB and GTO kits) are available. The lathe-turned wooden steering wheel kits are all available too! Norm has no plans of retiring or even dropping anything in his product line.

He suggested that if you have trouble sourcing his product you can just order direct. Send him an email at [email protected]
