Odometer question

Hello
I bought a 2001 Grand Caravan 3.3L and I think that the odometer is in "MILES" while the gauges are in KMS, is that possible?
The guy that sold me the van said it had 130,000 Kms. aprox but the odometer reading is 79,000, he said something was replaced. I know how many Kms I drive every day and for me is like the odometer is in Miles not in Kilometers.
Is there any way to program the odometer in miles or kilometers?
