Fuel Line quick release

Here's a good one. I'm trying to track down the retaining clips for both sides of the fuel filter on a 2007 Taurus 3.0. Apparently it came with quick release connections at the fuel filter. I didn't realize that Ford had upgraded from the standard clips that come with the replacement filter. In the case of these quick release, you just squeeze the clips and it releases the connection from the filter. I, on the other hand pried them out thinking they would be replaced as usual. Nope!! Anyway, I was able to find the single clip, that according to the local Ford Dealer, is on the fuel line side from the fuel pump. The other side supposedly doesn't have replacement clips as it is part of the fuel line. This side has 2 clips that squeeze around the nipple from the fuel filter. All 3 have the look of a rectagle parachute type shape. One clip has small retainers ends, the other two have retainer ends as wide as the top. Any guidance would help. I want to avoid having to replace the fuel line. Thanks.

Try the help section at Napa or another parts store. You can also go to a scrap yard and buy a section of fuel line. I've used the small copper crimp connectors available at the hardware store. Use a tubing cutter and splice in a section. Check if you can just change the pieces you need first.

http://www.DormanProducts.com/ They make after market repair parts for fuel lines. Search fuel line connectors and repair parts.

Thanks for the quick response. I was able to get a hold of the 2 clips shown at Dorman, item #800-023. I'm wondering if they were made to replace both sides of the fuel filter connector releases or just one side because the gas tank side connector had just one like the ones in the photo, but the other side had two that looked similar to the ones shown but had retainer clips as wide as the curved top. I am looking into the possibility of obtaining a section of fuel line that has the connector and cannabalizing the clips from it. Ford wanted to sell me the entire replacement fuel line that has the two release clips, but I'm not paying $168 for just getting the clips. They have to be made somewhere by some company for Ford, they just don't appear magically. :)
