Door ajar

That warning keeps popping up on the Driver Information Center on my '06 MAXX. I've gone around the car many times, opening and closing all doors, and the liftgate with no success. This door ajar error prevents me from using dome lamp entry/exit lighting. These dome lights will stay on all the time, unless I turn the dome switch to the off position, which I would like to avoid. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a bad connection at one of the door switches, need to check out each switch.

"door switch". Are you talking about the buttons that get pushed in and out, as the doors are opened and closed ? How do you "check out each switch" ?
Thanks

I just looked at my 04 sedan, no door switches visible, going to have to look further into that. I may need that information some day.

A quick scan of the body module will likely reveal if a switch or which switch is causing the malfunction. The switch is on the door latch inside of the door, which makes it kind of nice because you can close the latch with a srewdriver and not have to listen to the ding with the key in while your doing interior work.

I flipped the latch on mine and it still showed door agar. 04 Malibu Z

Update Found problem, didn't flip latch far enough.

Without a tech 2 you need to unplug the BCM connector and with the wire color codes check each one with door closed for continuity.
