91 Dakota Door Problem

I borrowed my GFs dakota today. I was using the inner door release handle to pop the door lock mechanism up and open the door (not electric). About the 3 or 4th time i did this, I felt like something slipped and from then on, i could not exit the car using the inner door handle, even after i pulled up on the door lock post w/ my hand. I ended up having to roll down the window and pull on the outer door handle to get out of the driver's side. I did notice that if i pushed or pulled on the door lock it would move the inner handle slightly, but not all the way. I'm sure something must have slipped out of place.

How do i remove the door panel and fix the problem?

their are only a few screws and plastic ribit type that hold the door panel all the way to the left inside the door are rods that run from handel to lock plastic clips that hold it all togetheir one proble broke
