Headlight cover question

So my wonderful roommate went ahead and backed into my car cause why...? Yep, he's an idiot.
Anyway, he cracked a big hole in my driver side headlight cover (I refer to plastic clear outside piece as the 'cover'). The headlight still works and everythings fine electrically...but I want to get just the cover replaced (because after a big rain, my bulb dies. I've gone through three bulbs in a few months).
In looking around the internet, no one sells just the 'cover'. Does this mean that the 'cover' cannot be replaced separately and I will have to replace the whole unit?
As always, thanks for any advice.

Technically that is correct. Just purchase the complete headlamp assembly either new OE/aftermarket or used. Even if you could do the plastic cover it has to be properly sealed but not worth the time and effort.
Sorry to hear that but accidents happen.
