Camshaft oil seal

Why doesn't the camshaft oil seal work its way out towards
the camshaft sprocket? Does it just stay up against the #1 journal
all by itself or did I leave something out?

I would post a pic but my daughter borrowed my camera.

its a friction fit in the hole, if you were able to push it all the way in with your fingers then something is worn or not tight, if you had to tap it in with a driver and hammer then its tight enough and will stay put
