The usual size for wheel nuts (in UK at least) is 19mm or 3/4".
tis on my Escort MK6 LX 1994 anyway and every other car i have ever had.

19mm or 3/4" on all of my Ford's. The original nuts on my Escort had chrome covers on them that would eventually come off leaving the steel nut bare. Then the correct size became 18mm or leave on of the chrome covers jammed inside the larger socket. Mine got that way when the cover came off the nut, which forced me to have two sockets to remove the nuts.
