Is there any way to clean an oxygen sensor? I know you won't be able to restore them, but what about general cleaning?

ive never personally cleaned one or tried to but ive heard that unless there is carbon built up on the outside that can be cleaned off with a wire brush, you cant clean them.
ive also heard that if you take your car out for a few speed runs (0-60) with it to the floor it will clean your sensors and cats out a little.

taking the car out for a few speed runs is what the old timmers call an Italian tune up. it cleans the cats not the sensor.
