Whining noise with slight vibration

Replaced both front wheel Bearings (2000 GT) with the more expensive GM bearings about 1.5 years ago. About a month ago I started getting a noise from the passenger side so we again replaced this bearing with the GM bearing and the noise is still there. Actually no change in the noise at all. So we figured it may be the drivers side so we took the bearing we replaced from the passenger side and put it in the drivers side and again no change in the noise.
Noise is very loud at 110km per hr and is less under 110 and over 110. If you apply very light pressure to the right on the steering wheel the noise completely disappears. If you turn slightly to the left the noise stays the same and does not get any louder?
Could this noise be something other than a wheel bearing?
There is a also a slight vibration?????
I am at a loss! Any help would be appreciated.

I am at a loss! Any help would be appreciated. did you replace the race with new bearings? if not the race can be spining or a half shaft one could be bad causing the noise.

The bearings come in an entire Hub assembly.

Try a tire rotation. I had a neighbor bring me their car once and insisted the rear pasenger side wheel bearing was bad. I took the car for a test drive and wasn't convinced. So I brought it home and rotated all 4 tires. The noise then moved from the back passenger side to the front driver side. They got all 4 new tires and problem solved.
Just going by your ear when diagnosing bearing noises can be quite decieving at some times. Not to mention $$$$$ if you keep using expensive GM bearigns.
What are you torquing the axel nut to? Should be around 130 ft/lbs if I remember right.

I believe it is 151 - 159 lb-ft but that is with a new axle nut and if the hub is OE GM or AC Delco. Axle nut torque figures may not pertain to aftermarket hubs.
Best to check the GM Factory Service Manual for the spec to use or any instructions that come with aftermarket hubs. It varies between '97 - '03 GP model years.

My 01 GT has the same problem. New bearings up front. Tires have less than 15,000 miles on them (recently rotated), new rotors and pads, no clicking when I turn from up front. But I still have that grinding/whining sound and a slight vibration. Could this actually be the back bearings? Cause I don't feel the vibration in the steering wheel, I feel it in the seat. And if I have something sitting in the passenger seat, you can see it vibrate. Is it possible that the noise we hear is actually coming from the rear of the vehicle, but sounds like it's coming from the front? Does that make sense? Thanks.

Yes I agree, if the tires are scalped, or have uneven ware, it will sound like a bearing, usually caused by the alignment being out.

Sounds like sticky valve in P/S pump. Also out of alignment.

Thanks for the suggestions. I also thought it could be the tires. I think...but can't recall 100% if the noise was there before I changed over to my winter tires. I am going to change tires back to the all seasons this week and that will tell the tale on the tires.
Also had the car aligned a few weeks ago.
The noise appears to be coming from the front but someone also mentioned that it could be a back bearing?
