Relocating vaccum lines after intercooler install

The casue : I Just installed an ETS street/strip intercooler on my 2g and the new j-pipe doesnt have a nipple on like the stock one does. The vacuum line running off that nipple was connected to my boost solenoid then conected to my boost controller. I tried not hooking it up to anything, That didnt work. Now that vacuum line is tapped into the first hole in the intake manifold (the same one the BOV is plumbed into). And still no boost. I figued anywhere along the intake path would be sufficient for the new connection but apparently not.

The problem : When i step on it a little i may get like 1-1.5 psi but nothing really happens. When i step on it like that all i hear is a kind of whining noise almost like an RC car.The problem i believe im having is that the wastegate is open all the time becasue It sounds like the turbo is just spinning and not making any boost. Could this be a horrible boost leak? all my connections are very tight. PLZ help, i need this runnign by the end of the week so i can get back to school lol.
P.S. Ill post a ton of pictures of the install once im sure its all good. I know you guys love pics :biggrin:

Ya of course. The hose in question was originally routed from the boost controller to the solenoid and was originally connected to the nipple on the stock j-pipe

Just drill a hole in the j pipe and screw a brass fitting in.

Well i did that with a barbed brass piece but nothing quite fit and i couldnt get the brass piece to thread (Brass is softer than steel). So im getting more boost but still not right, still getting the whining noise. I feel like the brass piece isnt sealed enough, I had to re-thread it becasue none of my taps were the right size for it. so i think i may JB weld it on becasue i cant weld and dont have the tools to anyway. Should JB weld be enough to make a good, permanent, seal?

Edit: If that doesnt work im gonna run a boost leak test when i can get a chance

JB weld will make a decent seal if you put enough of it on there. Won't look pretty, but it'll get the job done for now...

Thanks guys, thats what im going to do next, then move to a boost leak test. If you read further into the thread Kevin mentions that you can use the vacuum lines running off the manifold. I tried using the one that runs between the manifold and the BOV but maybe it wasnt tight enough. and who knows i might have a boost leak that is totally f-ing me right now and everything else is fine. Gotta love it ha
