increase power steering pressure

It is a way to increase hydraulic pressure of the power steering pump?

I have a 95 Accent automatic, and the power steering is not very strong like in newer cars and other car model. We feel the road but don't feel enough boost when we turn the wheel.

It is possible to adjust the valve on the P/S pump to have more pressure or it's better to replace the pump with one who have already more pressure?

For the most part, the pump puts out a continuous pressure, and the valve in the steering box controls how much boost is applied. I'm not familiar with Hyundais, but on most American cars the amount of steering wheel effort is controlled with a different diameter shaft in the valve.

I suggest getting a shop manual that might explain the PS pump assembly a little better. Its possible there is a pressure regulator spring that can be changed or removed, but be aware that full pressure all the time can lead to increased cavitation (aeration) and hot fluid.

The short explanation is that there probably isn't an easy way to do it.

Which shop manual do you recommend me? I have many Haynes Manuals, but they don't give specific information on the power steering system. Do I 've to get the service manual produced by Hyundai Motor?

At page 48 it shows the assembly of the P/S pump.

It has a flow control valve inside with a spring which regulate the pressure.

If I replace it with the one of a newer Accent (2000-2005) I will get more pressure?
