HARD reverse!

I have a 1996 Tracker that after driving/warm -up the auto-trans shifts hard into reverse. Example, as if the engine was at high rpm then shift into reverse. It is the same from Drive to reverse as from Park to reverse. I have it at a transmission shop right now and they have flushed (found no debri) and traced all the wiring and haven't been able to locate the problem as yet. any ideas? P.S. 4X4:confused:
