2003 E320 Rear Disc Brake Problem

While Changing the rear brakes on my E320 I accidently stripped the hole for the allen or torx flatt head bolt on the caliper which is recessed in a little black boot. Any suggestions on how to remove this bolt? It is really in a tight spot and I need help!

Can you try tapping/hammering an allen or torx head socket into the hole you've created ( perhaps one size larger or a standard size ). Otherwise you may need to get the boot out of the way and tackle it with a cold chisel or vice grips.

Stop! Are you working on the new body style e-class brakes? If you have not connected a scan tool to deactivate the brake system you are looking to lose a finger or end up needing new brake calipers after the brakes apply by themselves when you are not wanting them to. This is part of the SBC brake system so if you are not sure what I am talking about please stop so you don't get hurt or cost yourself a alot of extra $$$$$.

Hi,

Did you manage to solve the problem. I am in the same situation. While trying to remove the brake pad caliper I think I used wrong allen key and rounded the torx bolt. It is a very tight spot and could not reach with other tools. Wondering how did you get the pins out. Thanks for reply
