96 318i blower motor help

Does anyone have detailed information on how to remove the heater blower motor assembly from a 96 318I, or does anyone have a manual that shows it I could get copied on? I bought a Bentley manual but it is generic and it does not apply to me even though it says it does. The problem is the plastic electrical jct box and several cables are in the way, books I see say to simply move it out of the way....well that won't work on this 96 model. I would assume the cables need to be unhooked but there are several and would rather have some instructions to be sure I don't mess it up.

well something new..blower motor works great with 12 volts run to it...turns out the voltage going to it was only 3 volts, measured multiple times, same voltage. Not enough to even begin turning the motor. The local BMW guy told me a while back that if the final stage resistor failed ti would still run at high speed. I am not sure now and can't get hold of him. Is it possible for the final stage to be causing this or perhaps the digital controller itself> HAS to be one of the two....

Well the fan works fine now, replaced the final stage unit. However....when I shut the car off I notice a buzzing or humming noise after the key is removed coming from under the dash. Stays on, period. I am suspecting maybe the reason the FSU failed maybe...or may be no big deal. Regardless I have traced the fuse to #31, which is one of SEVERAL fuses listed for heater and a/c...dam BMW book is not plain on what this fuse actually DOES. I notice that if I unplug it and plug it in again the noise stops. Until the fan is operated again and car shuts off. the noise is NOT coming from the engine compartment...any thoughts on this before I put it back together again?

LOL, I guess this is what I get for not driving the car myself...a BMW owner told me the fan in the control unit runs for 10 minutes or so after igniton turned off in this car. Sure enough, this was the case. The fan sends air to the digital temperature sensor, just runs for a while afterwards. Anyway, car is fine again.
