2004 F150 Intermittant rough idle

I've got a 2004 F150 w/5.4L engine. It starts up fine. Runs smooth but when pulling up to a stop light will intermittantly get a rough idle. Will happen 2-3 times during a short trip. I'm thinking its a sticky idle air control valve. Anyone have any experience with this. Can they be cleaned or have to be replaced? Thanks in advance.
