hi guys. I was fixing my car and a lady lives next door saw me working on the car came and told me if i want parts that her EX left in her garage for free. I went to her garage and I took a nice set of 17" wheels and ignition system that looks brand new. the spark ones were jacobs complete set which I put on my car. the distributer match the blue color but does not say for what car or brand, it says "performance ignition specialists" though. I don't know if that the brand or the store that was selling them.
still has the tag on it so i think it is brand new. for 8 cylinder car
the tag says "performance ignition speacialists" then 14 degree crank curve @ 2200 rpm
next line advanced curve starts @ 1300 rpm
then 0 degree total valum advanced. I decided to sell it since I don't have a V8 car, but since i don't know the brand, for what car. i thought Chevy guys might know about it. please help me find what this distributer is for.

Looks like a chev V8 dist.
You might do a web search.
Does it have points inside or electronic setup?
You might need the coil to match it or a box to go with it to get engine to run with it.

Are the distributors for the 305's, 350's and 454's the same? Anyway, Im guessing someone had a distributor fixed up with a specific advance curve, for something they were building up. I'd start with the assumption it was for a 305 or 350, and start looking to see what years used the same kind of distributor cap, and where the distributor looked the same. If you go to www.rockauto.com, put in the make (chev) and pick a year and a model, you can look at little images of the distributors and the dist. caps - to see what the distributor might fit, or definitely would not.
For instance, in the mid 80's the passenger car 350's had different distributor caps, with the ignition coil mounted right in it.
