Monroe makes a Quick Strut kit for the 1999, but I don't know about the 1997.

The unit replaces not only the shock, but the spring and top strut mount too: - all brand new. Easiest way ever to replace shocks (and springs too). In Canada about $170.00 per side.

No messing with the springs either. Loosen five bolts, pull the old unit out, replace it with the new unit, tighten 5 bolts and your done.

Priceless!

.

As a suggestion, try calling:
http://www.car-stuff.com/mmparts/pontiac-montana/coil_springs.html
http://www.jcwhitney.com/Auto-Parts/10101.jcw
http://www.summitracing.com/

If front coil spring replacement item isn't within their online catalog, you may want to email or call them. For your van, it could be a special order item.

Hope this helps...
