belt squeal 2001 2 door civic

I have a belt squeal issue, I'm pretty sure that it's coming from the water pump pulley, has anyone else come across this problem?? and if you had to replace the water pump, or can you just replace the pulley??

did you change the Belt? it may be the bearing in the pump itself... which would require replacement of the pump.

No I have not changed the belt, I'm pretty sure its not the belt.

Can you not pull the pulley off and press in a new bearing??? or is it all sealed?

I just want to know if that was a common problem with these cars.

well, the water pump is a wear item.. they get old and need replacing.. and as far as i know its all sealed, the water pump is cheap though. since you need to remove the belt anyway, it would be smart to replace it at the same time.
