Decal Solvant

Just last night I used Solve-a-Set to make my decals lay down nice and flat. Everything went fine, except for the fact that the solvant didn't completely pull the decal into a seam between two body panels. So now it looks like it's floating over the two of them. This is not the desired effect. Can I reapply the solvant, and reasonably expect it to work again now that the decal is dry? Will it reform the dry decal and mould it into the seam?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

You can reapply the solvent, but may I offer a tip,
Before you apply solvent down the seam line, gently slice the decal along the seam with you Xacto, then apply the solvent, this will allow the decal to completely form down into the seam.

You mean like the door/hood pannel line? Maybe you could just cut the decal with a very sharp blade along the seam line.

What are you working on?

Edit: Ray is fast and right :)

Great thanks guys. Ray, I thought about slicing the decal along the seam also, but didn't want to chance that the solvent wouldn't work again. The last thing I wanted was to slice the decal, only to find that it wouldn't mould into the seam. Then I'm stuck with the edges of the decal hanging there.

Ales, I'm working on a Porsche 962C, with the Joest livery from the World Sports Car Cup for 1985. When I have the body finished I'll try to post some pics. Don't know if my camera is up to the task though.

Thanks much guys.

Michael,

Just take a couple of pics and post them here so that we have something to look at! Really, the quality is not that important (unless you're using a webcam, those can and usually are frustratingly crappy).

Should have something in a few days. Just hoping that it's up to the typical stellar AF quality. It's only the second car that I've ever done. The first being a 99% finished Toyota GT1. Not finished yet because Renaissance is terrible at shipping out transkit decals. So that is just a plain shiny red model right now. I think it's good enough to post up here. We'll see.
