I've just started experimenting with Zero 2K clear coat & finding it quite thick.

I was wondering whether anyone tried thinning Zero 2K more than the recommended maximum 25%?

I've gone to 50% with no problems. You just have to do really light mist coats and build up the finish. Practice on some scrap to see what works for you.

You can thin it quite a bit more, but not too thin or you may find you get runs more easily. I usually use 5ml clear, 2.5ml hardener and 3ml of thinner, sometimes I up the thinner to 5ml, but I spray more of and lighter coats to keep the runs at bay. You don't want to go down the road of too much thinner though because it could harm the decals and it loses a bit of it's depth and high build qualities, which is the main reason I like it so much in the first place.

Thanks very much guys.

I was thinking it might be a bit like epoxy where if you thin too much it stays sticky & won't set.
