GM: Coolant leak
Some 2006-07 General Motors cars and light trucks with the 3.5 or 3.9L engine may exhibit a slow coolant leak from the upper portion of the engine. One likely source of the leak, reports GM, is a worn gasket at the interface between the coolant crossover pipe and the rear of the right-side cylinder head. Installing new-design service gaskets (Part Nos. 12577704 and 12590668) at both ends of the crossover pipe should stop the coolant loss and eliminate further leakage issues.
Vehicles that are prone to the problem and can benefit from the revised gaskets are Buick Terrazas; Chevy Impalas, Malibus,Monte Carlos & Uplanders; and Pontiac G6s & Montana SV6s.

Unbelievable. And some wonder why GM is in trouble.....
I guess the 3.5 in my '04 Maxx is OK, but not the (different) 3.5 in my sister's '07 Maxx. She'll be thrilled.
You'd think this matter was resolved once and for all with the (expensive) fiasco with the 3.1 and some others,. Guess not.

Well at least it's not the manifold, that would be more than a couple of pipe gaskets.

I was thinking the same thing, it could've been so much worse!
