Pinion seal procedure

Please check this procedure to change the pinion seal on a 2004 Mustang GT and let me know where I'm wrong.
1) Drop rear of drive shaft
2) Remove nut from pinion knuckle
3) Remove knuckle
4) Remove & replace seal
5) Replace knuckle
6) Tighten the nut to the correct torque that would equal the pre-load torque of the differential crush washer?
7) Replace drive shaft.
What did I miss?
What is the pre-load torque for the 2004 GT?
Or to what value should I torque the nut?
Please add any comments that would help.
Thanks

You also need to replace the crush washer. The torque value is pretty high (150 pounds maybe??) - the tricky part is to hold the pinion while tightening the nut. You could probably google on the torque values and pre-load values. The pre-load is the amount of torque necessary to turn the rear end after your properly torque down the pinion nut.
Good luck.....
