Hey everybody. I stopped by the local Advance Auto Parts today to pick up a bottle of Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner since it seems to be the preferred brand to use. I wanted to let you all know that is buy one get one free so now is a good time to stock up on it.

Good suggestion and good product. The only gas I use is Chevron and it already has Techron in it.

I wish we had Chevron up here in Michigan. I filled up with it in Ohio while on a trip, because it's one of the cleanest/highest rated fuels out there and I can't get it here.

Good point Rich and I am happy with it. I'm wondering what the availability of Chevron will be when I drive back to the Northeast in May. Wife and I decided to take a vacation in conjunction with attending my oldest son's graduation from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Road trip time! :grinyes: 2300 miles one way to New York and then taking the Southern return route back to Texas since I have to visit my sister in Virgina Beach, VA. We're taking the Regal GS so I am stuck with unleaded premium grade too. As long as it is a "Top Tier" gasoline I should have no problems. Knock on wood!

Nothing wrong with Shell. Thats my backup source of gasoline. Still on the recommended list. See links.

Cool, I've run almost exclusively QuikTrip in the last 10 years. Shell is here locally in TN.

I run Shell premium in my Harley, as i can feel a difference between it and any other available here in Michigan. It starts easier (don't even need to use the choke/enrichener when the temps are above 50f), and gets better mileage. As far as my Grand Prix, I stick with Shell or Marathon. BP is junk around here (it's all 10% ethanol) and anyone that goes to Walmart/Sams Club/Kroger/No name etc... to get gas deserves what they get.

Yeah I heard that if some of the green weenie legislators have their evil ways certain Mid-West states may be going up 20% ethanol a few years from now. :twak:
In most cases we all have at least up to 5% ethanol in our gasoline especially during the winter months with oxygenated gas.
I noticed a lot of flex fuel vehicles are being sold/purchased in our area but the problem is we do not have any ethanol gas stations. :screwy:

Just to show how uneducated the general public is about the fuels they run, we had a local gas station run a special on E-85 fuel for $1.99/gallon back when gas hit $4+/gallon. People were lined up for blocks, and most in line (I'd say roughly 80% believe it or not) were not even E-85 capable vehicles! Then, after ignoring the many signs stating that they had to have an E-85 capable vehicle to use this specific pump, they threatened to sue and demanded their money back. As far as I'm concerned they got what their stupid asses deserved, a car barely running if at all and a ligher wallet.
The stupid and their money are soon parted!

i remember a while back when gas was $4.10/gal i was filling my car up and watched this girl...probably in her 20's...pull up in her 98ish Ford Tortus, and fill it up with E-85 :grinno:

Was she cute? If so you should have helped her.
BTW, some newer "tortoise's" are FFV Flex Fuel Vehicles.
Did it start and run when she finished?
