2.2L 4cyl
3T40 3 speed auto
342,000 miles and still going.
Hello,
I have had this car about 6 years with absolutely no problems until now.
The transmission is very erratic, sometimes not even engaging at all. It started by no making the 2-3 shift. I would drive up to 50-55 mph and still nothing, let it set for a bit tried again and all OK. Next day while test driving would not make the 1-2 shift, let of the throttle for a sec and then it would shift.
As this is not electrically controlled nor do I see a vacuum modulator I assume the TV Cable may need adjustment. I want to try that before taking to a shop.
Someone told me to push the button on TV Cable and unit will retract then have someone push throttle all the way down and unit will self adjust. Just want to ensure this is correct.
Thanks,
Bob

Your trans should have a modulator (ac-delco #8662967). It is mounted in the front of the transaxle on the drivers side, down low next to the TCC/trans electrical connector.
