If i remove my cat and my muffler from my 98 silverado what should i do about the sensor on the cat? will it cause trouble codes over and over if i take it off? Also i have heard that there are no downsides for removing them but i should change the oil more frequent i was just wondering what the repercussions would be for removing them.

Removing cat is illegal.

Also in a lot of cases. you lose performance and MPG's. They do make high flow cats if you think your engine will be better with no backpressure.

the removal of the cat's will not increase MPG....the engine controls on this vehicle ,,require all this to be working, or you will use more fuel and be a pollutor...

whoever stated your vehicle would run better is an idiot..
