So i bought a new radio stereo for my 91 chevy and connected all of the wires together. When I turn on the car, the radio turns on, says AM 12:00 and lights up blue, but the second you touch ANY button it shuts off and then returns back on. I double checked to make sure all of the wires are not touching and everything was connected correct but it still comes back to the same problem. Does anyone know why its shutting off with pressing any button? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

the point was, you shouldn't .......
red wire goes to a switched 12V source
yellow wire goes to a constant 12V source
fix your obvious problems first, then we can troubleshoot from there
also, make sure your ground wire for the headunit is NOT going to a black wire in the harness. If it is, cut that connection and reconnect the ground wire directly to a bolt behind/under the dash.

sounds like 1 of 2 problems. Either your power or ground connection is poor and has only enough power to turn on the unit but not enough to perform anything OR the headunit is screwed up some how. If it has a detachable face, try taking the face off and cleaning the gold contacts on the headunit and on the backside of faceplate with a pencil eraser.
