i've checked google and other sites, but none reveal info for the year of my car. how do i go about removing the headlight assembly on the passenger side of my car. all i gotta do is change the bulb, but for some reason they put the coolant reservoir in the way, and i can't get to it. i don't want to remove the reservoir, i just want to know which screws will i need to take out, and where are the screws located, in order for me to take out my headlight assembly and get to the bulb. on the drivers side, there is nothing in the way to change that bulb, but i can't get to it on the passenger side.
also, do i twist the bulbs out, or do i just pull on them. the question may seem dumb, but when i changed my license plate bulb, i decided to twist instead of pull, and i ended up with a busted bulb and glass embedded in my fingers.
btw thats a pic of the hood of my car in my sig, so maybe you could give me some directions as to where are the parts i have to unscrew. thanks.

with a little bit of patience, and scraped up fingers, i manuevered the plug, housing, and bulb out, and put the new bulb in around the small opening that i had. coudln't see anything either:grinyes:.
i guess this thread can be closed by a mod, but i would still like to know how to get the assembly out for future reference.

Hi!
A few days ago i was on the highway and a rock hit my driver side headlight breaking the glass but my low and high beam bulbs survived. The next day i was driving along and my low beam went out. I was driving in the rain, so not sure if the water getting in caused it to go or the rock may of damaged it.
Anyway, I bought the low beam bulb today at lunch and my plan is to just put a piece of clear mylar that i found at work and put it across the headlight glass just to hold it together and keep the water out until i can get another one. Looks like it will be from the junkyard, cause I went to canadian tire and the guy quoted me $133.00 I was kinda shocked, didn't know they were so expensive. :frown:
Tomorrow I'm gonna put the new bulb in. I haven't looked at it yet and I've never changed one before, but i'm sure it's not rocket science.. lol
Any tips would be helpful!!! :)
Thanks!

Yesterday I didn't specify what my car was (1995 park ave) Sorry I'm a little new at this.
I just finished trying to replace my low beam bulb. I unscrewed the two cap like screws on top of the assembly and it popped right out. After taking the old bulb out, I went to put the new one in and ugh It was the wrong part:banghead: Thats what the guy at the parts store gave me part#9006 and I think i need part #9005. Anyway I have the old one I'll just bring it. I guess thats a lesson learned, the next time i need parts for my car I'll try to bring to old one if possible and search for a part# before i go.
I put the clear piece of mylar across the headlight to keep the water out and hold it together until iI get a new one (found 1 online for $60.00 better than $133.00.. :))
Cheers!!!!!

Today I went back to trimax auto parts and told the guy that the bulb he gave me was the wrong one. He searched it up and said that he gave me the right one(9006 low beam bulb) and that is what it said on the box. He took the bulb out and discovered that in fact it was not a 9006 low beam in the box but it was a 9005 high beam. He gave me the right one and I installed it earlier.

bmore, I can not answer your problem directly, though I have a solution to glass in the fingers. If I find I have a problem bulb that is a little tuff to get out of it's socket, I take a sandwich bag, put it around the bulb, put a pair of pyliers in the bag, squeeze on the bulb and break it. The broken bulb stays in the bag, then I can use the plies with more force to extract the bulb base. I have had the glass on fingers...not fun.

well i recently found the car manual when i took out the backseat the other day :grinyes:, and it has instructions on what i needed, but thanks for the response anyways. yeah the glass in the fingers is a downer, but i don't know if i would stick pliers into a broken lightbulb, but im not an electrician lol.
