You didn't mention, but did Auto Zone clear the code after diagnosing?
A commonly suspect area would be the EVAP hoses that run underneath the air cleaner housing box. Check for splits/cracks there (although finding them might not be easy). That is where my problem was. I had checked everything (hoses, clamps, changed the solenoid, etc.) that I could see or touch. I succumbed to the DEALER :banghead:, who ran their "smoke test" and found the split beneath the housing. Other threads on this forum would suggest it is a common area (something about the movement of the hardlines causing stress).
My daughter had the same codes as mine on her '01 T&C LX, 3.3L Flex. Their problem was a split hose around the gas tank/filler neck area.
Hope this helps.

p0440 is a general evap system failure, the code is usually due to a ldp failure or purge failure.

-he's right po440 is a performance failure code, however it is specified in the drb3 chrysler scanner for those codes as a purge system performance failure which those particular models are known for purge solenoids as a corrective measure as a first step which usually solves the problem after the codes are cleared...

Thanks for all the help. This is what I found..........checked the hoses under the van, there is a little translucent plastic connector that connects hose from gas tank to hose going to cannister. I found some gasoline in that when I took it apart, cleaned that out and checked the hoses for cracks.......Then I took the air filter housing apart and checked the hoses under there, One of the aluminum tubes looked like it MIGHT have a small leak, it was difficult to tell for certain, but I did tape it anyway to see if that made any difference. Two days later the check engine light went out and hasn't come back on in 4 days. I am hoping I got it fixed. Again thanks for all the help and I hope my information can help someone else with this problem:smile:
