Is your room dirty???

Well, is it??? At school I am a pretty-big neat freak. My school bag is always organized, my bed is at least somewhat straightened, and my clothes are put away. I'll admit that at home my room is a giant disaster area, but then again, I don't live there really.

But anyway, this is really more about when you clean your room up. Do you only clean upon request from parents or g/f/b/f or do you clean up periodically anyway?

I like for things to be neat. I keep things put up for the most part, but sometimes I let it get away from me. After a couple of weeks though, it's always cleaned again. My school bad NEVER has a stray paper in it. That way, I'm quick and efficent. The more time I save, the earlier I am dismissed from class.

Last two weeks since wife has been gone visiting family back east the house is pretty much a disaster. I have about 3 hours to clean it before I have to pick them up at the airport tomarrow after work.

I could care less about the house really its the cars and garage that I keep sparkling shiney.:D

My room is really bad and it bugs me, but it's just too much to clean. I start to clean it then lose motivation after like 45 mins.

the housecleaner just came today, but there's already crap starting to pile up on the floor. i can't keep my room clean for more then 2 days unless i'm out of town.

mad hell cleanup this week around the whole house and section.Got an open home this weekend, want to sell up and buy something with a bit more land.So everything has to be tidied away to make things look bigger.:D

Other than that, the place is usually clean enough to be healthy, and dirty enough to be home. And if the kids want to drag a plank out of the shed to make a bridge for their trainset in the lounge, that's cool.As long as they do it quietly.;)

i tried to clean my room 2 weeks ago, i now can barely see my floor again, it'll probably be that way for about another 6 months...i need to do some laundry when i get home, so that might keep my room clean for a little:rolleyes:

I keep the condo up here pretty clean. The house down in Lansing could stand to be cleaned up better.

Completely clean is bad... it makes things so sterile and hospital-esque. I like to be in a room that is clean but lived-in.

I try to keep things "cleanish" but due to me being lazy after a weeks work its usually only gets tidied up about once a month

I used to keep it clean, but in the last 3-4 months I have given up. I dont see the point of keeping it clean when I am the only person who ever comes in the room.

Its actually fairly easy to find stuff. Why make the bed, if I am just going to be messing it up again when I go to sleep the next night? If I am looking for clothes, clean ones are in one pile, and dirty ones are kicked into another. Boxes with food in them go on the desk or dresser, empty ones go on the floor. Its actually a good system :D

the only part of my room that is clean is the top of my dresser, where i keep my models. And even then, a stray sock will sometimes make its way to safety from the depths on the clothes pile.

W3rd Coop, I hear ya buddy. Honestly, why make the bed, when it'll be unmade in a couple of hours???

I just turned my room upside down, and reorganized it so I want to keep it clean for a while. Two tips I have:

1) Get a clothesbasket for your room (trust me you'll love it, 100% easier to just chuck all your crap in there than picking it up off the floor.)

2) All your paper crap from binder, or bills, or whatever, FILE IT or CHUCK IT!! You'll thank me when you don't have to go through every single piece of paper seeing if it is supposed to be kept or chucked!

Other than that, just clean up your shit now, that way you won't have to do it ALL a while from now!

Later!

crap...one second, must go back and review thread, I forgot what it was about.

OK. remember now.
Yeah, my room is a disaster. It hasn't been cleaned in about 4 years. random stuff I can remember having laying around includes two basses (one without strings) a couple of bass amps, enough bits and pieces to make at least three different snare drums, an extra mattress (I actually lost it, now that I think about it) a bookshelf...a rocking chair (covered in clothes- can't see chair) a fan...ummmm....some models...legos...a TV...a Nes/Snes...(brb, gotta answer tangie) ok...ummm....crap. oh well, there's more. My room is horrible- I have way too much stuff.

Cleaned my room yesterday and now its spotless. Its amazing how much dust collects on the fan blades....

I hear ya, Tex...I've seen fans that look like spanish moss is growing off of them. it's quite fun to throw a foam nerf ball into a spinning fan and seeing what falls to the ground.

I voted the third option.

It does get and stay clean periodically.. but right now it is PRETTY FRICKING BAD :(
