Trunk Remote Problem

Hello,

I have a 96 Sunfire convertible SE 2.4L. When I press the 'trunk' button on my keyless entry remote the trunk does not open. The 'lock' and 'unlock' buttons work fine for both doors. I can hear a clicking noise coming from the left-hand side of the inside of my trunk when I press the 'trunk' button. There is some circuitry in the area where I am hearing the click. Any idea what the problem may be? Thanks.

sounds like the mechanical part of things needs some lubrication. Pop your trunk, check for rust or seized parts from your trunk actuator to the trunk latch.
