Pagid Vs PFC Brake Pads

I am looking at endurance pads at the moment. Local brake shop has recommended Pagid RS-29's as an alternative to the PFC 97's fitted to our cars.

Has anyone tried the Pagid RS-19 or RS-29 pads (Pagid Yellow compound)?

If so how was feel, stopping power, wear etc?

We have not tried anything but the pfc's that PAD sells for the GTS. But when we had a porsche we ran pagid black front and hawk blue rears (weird combo but that is what the previous owner swore by and we went with it).

Now our race shop (which runs a full season of ALMS runing the GT2 Viper for Primetime racing) wants us to try hawks. He claims they will create more brake force than the pfc's we are running now. We have not tried anything yet......need a traqmate I think or something to truely tell.

Brian are the PFC's that you are running 97's or 01's or another PFC compound?

One of the problems with living on a bunch of Islands in the middle of the Pacific is that sometimes you have to take what you can get. The local PFC suppliers that I have used for years only stock PFC's to fit Wilwood calipers so may not be able to access them as easily now. Hence looking at alternatives................

We have great success with Carbotech brake Pads for Panoz race cars. We have found they much better feel and are very easy on the rotors. We can usually get at least ten sets of pads to one set of rotors. But the best part is feel and the braking tourqe we get using Carbotech. I have found much better results than the PF and Padgid in braking with the Carbotech, let me know if you need any.

Thanks Matt. I see that Carbotech list for the GTS. I assume that the same Brembo calipers are fitted to all cars and that this pad listing will fit a GTRA?

Which compound are you using? What sort of life are you getting out of a set of pads? I am doing a 6 hour enduro next so have been focussing on enduro compound options such as PFC 97 or Pagid RS-29.

Can you post the part number from carbotech so it will get into the parts list.

I will post the part number for the Carbotech in the morning. Carbotech does have endurance pads. I run XP 12 in the front and XP10 in the rear for compunds. We have raced a couple 4 and 6 hour endurances with this set up an dbeen ok for the duration. I would also depend on the track you are running at, for pad usage.
