2000 deville cluster

i just got this vehicle and the cluster blanks in and out. i was going to get one from salvage but it has a higher amount of miles on it and they say it will show that when i install in my vehicle. its about 50k higher than what i have on vehicle. are they correct that the mileage is contained within the cluster and will change when i switch it? thanks for any info given

To the best of my knowledge, yes, milage is stored inside the actual cluster. So if you were to put that on your car, it will look like it has 50K more miles than you really have.

is ere any direction u can give me as to find out definitely? i really dont wanna add the extra miles and i dont want to mess with the stealership! thanks for helping out too
