I have a 95 park avenue, it starts right away then starts to idle rough and then will die. It will restart, I have noticed that when it idles rough the dash lights, radio light and head lights will dim. For about a two weeks now it has done this daily once in drive as long as you are applying gas it seems fine but when you start to brake it does it again. Today on a forty minute drive to an interview it started acting up while doing 65 on the interstate and several times it died, right before it happen it would start to buck and it would either start running fine or die. It seemed like it was losing power (lights dimming and all).
I have checked the battery connnections - getting good connection, tapped egr and unhooked egr same problem when not connected, checked for oxidation on fuses and relays - passenger side inside car under dash - none.
Another note is that the check engine light used to come on when the car would sit idle for a period, now the check engine light stays on. I do not know what the codes say at this point but will have more on that tomorrow. (Autozone and Advance could not connect)
Any information will be helpful, thank you.

I have a 95 Park Avenue also. Mine is doing the same the on startup but only cut off when I press the gas and it tries to go into the passing gear. The code I got was mis-fireing So I changed the plugs and wires and it still is doing it. But to get the code read go to O'Reillys auto parts if you have one in your area. And tell them 95 model uses a different connector that 96's and above.

The 94 & 95's were crossbreeds and used what is commonly referred to as an OBD I.5.
