Front driverside brake locks.

My front driverside brake locks up, I just replaced both calipers in front, as well as the brake line and the flex hose on the driver side, but when I started to bleed my brakes after installing hte new line, the driver side just locked up again like before the new line and hose.

I have a 96 s-10 2wd ext cab, it has the 4wal ABS system that connects to the VCM i believe, MY ABS light is on. My brake light was on before the new caliper and parts, now it is off after i press in the brake once, but the brake is locked up, it doesn't release when the pedal is released, and it's only the driver side, the other side seems to function correctly.

Do I have to bleed all the brake lines? or what could be causing this problem? If it were the master cylinder then both brakes would lock right?

4WAL ABS requires an ABS capable, (bi-directional), scan tool, (not a code reader) to bleed the brakes. The scan tool opens the solenoids in the ABS unit so the system can be bled.

The chilton's manual said that isn't required unless i mess with something upstream from the ABS. I'm trying to get the truck rolling so i can bring it in to have the ABS checked.

I know when the ABS light is on the abs system is disabled.
shouldn't i be able to bleed the parts downstream of the ABS without the scanner?

During your replacement of the caliper, brake line and flex line, fluid drained out of the master cylinder. If the master cylinder ran dry, there is an air pocket in the ABS unit. If there is air in the ABS unit, you must use the scan tool to bleed the system.
