CTS Cranks but wont start?????

Hi all, My mom has a 2003 CTS. She went to start it today and when she lets the key go the engine still cranks but does not start. Now if she waits 30 minutes then the car starts fine. It is really weird. I am thinking that it might be the ignition, but I am not sure. Any HELP would be greatly appreciated. Thank You In Advance.:banghead:

My buddy said it might be the CPS Crank position sensor. He said its a common problem on the 03 CTS. Has anyone else had this problem? Please let me know ASAP. Thank you in advance.

check to see if you got spark from the coil or to the plugs. another thing can you hear your fuel pump running when keys turned on? you may have a fuel pump problem if you can spray starting fluid in it and see if it starts and if it does it's sounds like fuel pump.but check to see if it's getting spark first no spark no run...good luck...

Is the security indicator flashing or remain on when you attempt to start the engine. If there is a malfunction with the theft deterrent, the engine will crank and not start, but usually starts after vehicle sits a while.

Hi, It was a bad crank position sensor. Its on the driver side of eng.
