I have a 2002 Ford Ranger 3.0 6 Cylinder with 98,500 miles. Leaving for work, about 5 mile from home, check engine light came on and was blinking. Drove back to house. Used a scanner an pending code PO301.
I was hoping that it was an electricial problem instead of a fuel problem.
I purchased spark plugs, plug wires and a coil pack.
Removing spark plugs and the plug gap was around 80,000 on all plugs.
Installed new plugs still idiling rough, changed plug wires and still idiling rough, change out coil pack and the problem resolved.
