Hello,
I would like to buy a couple of cars in the USA and Import them into Canada. I have some cars in mind that are at a very low price in the USA compared to local cars. I have talked to a number of people and the one said it is hard to get a car from the US to Canada but the second one said that it is a piece of cake. Then another one said you have to take care of alot of paperwork and the customs make you pay alot of money.. etc etc... I dont know what to think and whom to believe?

First: I would like to buy used cars only!
I have 2 cars in mind:
1. 2007 Bentley Continental GT - 11,580 MILES - $109,888 (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=258665281&dealer_id=56020623&car_year=2007&rdm=1236054702623&model=BENCONT&num_records=100&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=2007&keywordsfyc=&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&only_price=1&awsp=false&search_type=used&distance=0&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=y&make=BENTL&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceASC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceASC&address=55199&advanced=y&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=857&standard=false)
2. 2006 Audi A8 L - 29,000 MILES - $33,995 (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=256199538&dealer_id=6556759&car_year=2006&rdm=1236055030696&model=A8&num_records=100&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=2005&keywordsfyc=&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&only_price=1&awsp=false&search_type=used&distance=0&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=n&make=AUDI&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceASC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=45000&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceASC&address=55199&advanced=y&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=879&standard=false)

(BOTH CARS ARE FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY! CARFAX CLEAN - LOW MILEAGE)
(The Audi will be used for everyday use and the Bentley for the weekends and nightouts)
I have the shipping pretty much figured out. They will be shipped to Saskatchewan(SK). It costs about $2500 for each one of them.
Now the Government Tax is 5% and the Provincial Tax is also 5% in my province. Both cars are located in Texas. So when I import them do I have to pay TX taxes? Or only the 5% Provincial for SK? What kind of Papers do I need to prepare to show at the border? What else do I have to think about?
Best Regards,
CC

Hey Ray,
The second person was a salesperson down in the states that I got to talk to. (phoned down to Florida) But He was busy and he wouldnt take the time to go over the details with me. Oh Im coming from germany moved to canada and now planning on buying a vacation home in florida and use the bentley to drive up and down the country. So what exactly do I need to import the 2 cars to canada?

CC

You will not be paying TX taxes on vehicle, here is a site that that you will find most of your answers http://www.riv.ca/english/html/how_to_import.html#notice

Go to this link on my website http://www.usedcartips.org/DMV.html and click on the DMV for your province, should you have questions, they will help you.

It will take a little study on your part to get all the documentation needed, it looks complicated but it really is not, :banghead: LOL
