Ok the weather is breaking so time to start working on my car again. So here's the problem.

The carb I have on there now is the stock carb.

The carb i took off was from a 87 monte carlo. Which is the dead one.

The gasket sandwiched between the throttle body and the intake is from a edlebrock performer.

The intake has a dip in it that lines up with the (can't remember the name so I'll just call them the leaky plugs on the bottom of the carb).

I'm assuming this dip in the intake serves a purpose and shouldn't be totally blocked. So is this the proper gasket to get when i go to the store? http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n281/ny_knckerbockers/gasket1.jpg

or is this the correct one?

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n281/ny_knckerbockers/gasket2.jpg

or does it even matter and this post is totally pointless?

1. Yes.

2. Yes.

3. No.

4. No.

The clip below the main well plugs is a new one on me. I've had Performer and Performer RPM intakes, and don't recall any kind of clip. The open style gasket will work just fine in a stock setup or otherwise.

Ok. I said "dip" not clip. I was trying to say that on the intake there is a decline like a ramp near the primaries where the "metering wells" sit.

Just to verify...

Yes to gasket 1
yes to gasket 2
no to it doesn't matter
no to this wasn't pointless. :)

You pretty much got it. It shouldn't matter.

Ok so I lied about spring being in the air cuz it just snowed like 6" and it's currently 15 degrees outside but I'm still working on my car.

I'm going to take a picture of the carb and base plate to get some feedback on what the hoses are suppose to go to. I'm looking on the sticker on the fan (hood, shroud, shield whatever) and I'm having a hard time figuring if I got the hoses right. Just need a confirmation so I'll try to get the pics up soon

finally after 3 years my car is actually running like it should. Changed the gasket, hit the carb with some cleaner, adjusted the cable for teh transmission and zooooom. The past month has just been hell with it shutting off and the choke acting up and all type of stuff.

Now to find out where this oil leak is coming from and change teh sway bar that snapped! :uhoh:

Lol of course I get it running right the week I'm suppose to sell it.... decisions decisions.
