Front Cranksahft Seal

Hello all, I have a nice oil puddle under my 2001 Sentra GXE. After jacking the car, I thought the leak to be coming from the oil pan silicone seal so I tightened it. I noticed that having my head under while the car running the leak was from elsewhere. I was able to see oil slowing running down the front Crankshaft assembly and dripping down. I think I got lucky having my head in the right place and at the right time, the space between the main pulley and the lip of the oil pan was small but just enough to see the oil slowing running down the middle of the front assembly and right onto the lip on the oil pan. My question is, how hard is it to replace the Front seal? Do I need to just remove the pulley? I read somewhere that the crankshaft had to be supported??? Thanks in advance.

no the crank doesnt need to be supported, just be very careful when doing it or else you will damage things and make leaks worse.
