My ex took a car that I had cosigned for, gave me great great pleasure to go repo it a couple of months later. Then it had to be locked in a buddy's garage so she didn't go take it again. Divorce sucks.

Hehe, nice idea, unfortunately the last set of keys she didn't take from the house are locked in my toolbox, of which is now locked in the garage and a matter for when all the assets and belongings are straightened out. :(

File your return and claim them and include a footnote with the return that includes the dates they lived with you, her name and SS# so that they can see she didn't earn enough to support them, etc.... she loses the deduction, you get the deduction, she gets on IRS's shitlist and you're in decent shape with the satisfaction of putting her in her place.
