High idle

I have a 93 Park ave w/3.8 liter,
The wife did just a quick trip to the store and while she was coming home she had to floor it to get around a truck, and she said shortly after that the "service engine soon" light came on and she noticed the idle was faster!
So I just went out to check it out, and I noticed when I first turned it on it seemed fine, however,,,,,a few seconds later, sure enough the idle jumped up to approximately 2k, so I popped the hood to listen and look for vacuum leaks and found none :wtf:
So I took (what I think) is the mass flow sensor (an approximately 2" in diameter round black sensor) on the throttle body loose via 2 screws and thought:wtf: I'll crank it up and see how she acts, after doing that she ran like a clock, NO MORE HIGH IDLE :uhoh: so I tightened it back up and it is running normal ?
IF ANYONE OUT THERE CAN TELL ME IF I SHOULD REPLACE THE PART ?IF YOU CAN UNDERSTAND MY DESCRIPTION OF THE PART WHAT DO YOU CALL IT?
OR COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELSE SHOWING SIGNS OF GOING?

After googling some, I think I might have answerd my own question.
I'm thinking it could be the ( IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE )
Anyone out there that could question or confirm my findings please feel free to chime in.:feedback:

Looks like they are around $100.00 buck's,
I dont want to just put it in on a guess.

Remove the existing IAC and clean the needle & seat with carburetor cleaner & lubricate the needle shaft with PB-Blaster. If that don't work, you can buy a new one at Advanced (Parts America) for 60-bucks. In addition. check the TPS voltage on the blue wire through the complete range. It should be less than .5v @ idle and 4.2v WOT.
