Need advice on my 2002 focus zts

I need to ugrade my zts to beat my brothers 2003 zx3. My zts is automatic and i want to make it manual. So far i have put a catback exhaust (magnaflow) and i cleared out my (cat) its gave it a nice sound and made it a little faster. Any tips to be able to beat my brothers zx3 which is manual and has a cold air/exhaust and also a cleared cat. Willing to spend 2k and my current engine is a 16v Zetec 2.0.
