During a recent test-N-tune event at VIR, a wing reportedly lost its Panoz. A VIR track worker interviewed the wing and got this statement… “I was pushing my Panoz around the track and everything seemed to be going OK. I felt a sudden jolt and looking down I noticed my Panoz was gone.“ :headshake
An search for the car was hastily put together, but to date there has been little success.

I watched it happen. Jim -- it was awesome meeting you, hope you had a great time on what we think is the best track around.

Yep, I had a blast. The track is a little larger than I expected, but after 30 minutes of chasing everyone in my run group I finally found the line. There's a lot of area to cover and you don't want to get caught daydreaming. But all in all, it isn't as difficult as I had first thought. Thanks again guy's.
Oh, I almost forgot... I sure hope Eric's wing finds his car...

oK, THAT was pretty damn funny!
So for those of you at home or work scratching your heads wondering WTF we are talking about....
on my last session at VIR, one of the upper mounting bolts that attaches my spoiler to the uprights came loose, then fell out which caused a nasty chain reaction of aerodynamic freakish proportion.
The front of the spoiler flipped backwards, while going through the uphill S's at VIR at @120mph and ripped the spoiler clean off the back of the car, sheering off the remaining bolts!!!
Luckily the story has a happy ending, after a search party was sent, the panoz was found sleeping under a tree and reunited with the spoiler.

for those of you wondering if this was a design flaw, it wasn't! The moral to the story is check the torque on those spoiler nuts, someone replaced mine with non lock nut style nuts and i had them come loose before, and usually check them at each event.
Other than being bent from the torque of the spoiler twisting off the car the uprights are in tact and unbroken!, but it did sheet off 2 of the bolts that were still holding the spoiler in place!
What a spectacle!

Now the GOOD news, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the wing was doing a great job adding downforce, because once it flew off, it was much more squerly through the rest of the uphill S's! LOL

nahh, that was a guy in the Dings group in an e46 m3. He is ok, and the car is mostly cosmetic damage
