My guys are banging their heads against a wall trying to figure out how to get the rotor off of this thing. They have removed the cap, spring, and snap ring from the spindle. Now the 4wd componet stands in the way of the rotor removal. How do you get it off? If I am not explaing this situation properly, please forgive me. I am only the wife to one and daughter to the other and I am tired of listening to the discussion. Any suggestions would be appreicated

Welcome to AF.
The wheel hub and brake caliper needs to be removed.
Inside the end of hub there is several nuts and locks that require a special socket to remove.
Does it have lock out hubs.
The lock out hub stuff has to come out of hub to get to the bear adjuster/ hold on nuts.
There may be several snap rings holding it in.
One big one the outer side.
Most parts places have the special socket/hub nut remover tools.
Also a good repair manual would help show how to do it.
Good Luck

It does have locking hubs and all of the things you mentioned have been removed. They have all of the tools, its just getting that last piece off that seems to be the problem. Maybe its stuck or rusty?

There are two retaining nuts holding the rotor/hub on. There is also a lock ring in between the nuts, hard to see with all the grease in there. Most likely you will have to fish the locking ring out with a piece of wire before you can get to the second nut. Once both nuts are out and the caliper is off the rotor/hub should pull off. Notice the inside nut has a tit on it that engages the locking ring. Be sure to reassemble it in the right sequence. Lacking experience with this you should probably invest in an assembly manual to make sure you get it right. It's not that difficult once you've done it Good Luck.

Maybe its stuck or rusty? clean the grease off of it and you'll see another nut and locking ring if you haven't removed that yet...
