02 focus DPFE sensor

I have a fault code of P0401 EGR system fault. I was going to buy a new ERG valve and replace it, but now I red that 9 of 10 times its the DPFE sensor. How long should it take me to replace this or shopld I replace the EGR valve? :banghead:
