i have an 86 chevy s10 with tbi. it has a new fuel pump and is getting fuel to the throttle body but none through the injector. i have a noid test light that is supposed to light up when hooked to the injector plug but i cant get it to light up. i tried testing with a volt meter and got 12volts from the red wire to ground and 8 from the blue wire to ground but the noid refuses to light up to show a proper signal to the injector.any ideas.

The red wire should show battery voltage when the ignition is in the RUN and START positions. The ECM supplies ground to the injectors through the blue wire to fire them. The blue wire should never show positive voltage on it. Trace the blue wire back to the ECM and look for a short to power. Possibly a chaffed wire in the harness, or there may be a problem in the ECM.

i did what you said and traced the wire back to the pcm i was getting the same reading there. then i checked ground to the pcm and found the problem.the pcm was not getting a good ground. i ran a ground wire to the case of the pcm and it fixed the problem. thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
