Hey, I bought an 05 Impreza RS two months ago. I knew some, but not enough about the car before I bought it. The WRX has been my dream car for many years, but the ones near by were crap or way too expensive. My wife and I decided to buy an Impreza RS, thinking that there were at least a few upgrades to purchase, like performance and handling. Guess I was wrong, I can't find much at all. Only thing I am really looking for is Cusco suspension for this. My question is do they make some for this make of vehicle? I have called a couple of sites and they can not be for sure. I would think the frame would be the same on the RS as the STI.
Also it is a drive by wire, as you would know, well I don't know much about it. It does lag at shifting but I think too much, also when I start it up, it revs high. 1500 RPM till I tap the gas is this normal. I am wondering if it needs to be replaced, or if it is operating normally. Any help would be great thanks. Oh, it is at 48,000 miles now. This Subie is great, regardless!

You cannot replace just the sensor, the sensor is built into the motor and there are actually 2 sensors. You have to replace the whole throttlebody.

wow. two sensors really, I thought it was just the one on the gas pedel. That is how most drive by wires are, aren't they?

Any suggestions on where to buy the drive by wire kit?

The pedal assembly is all one non-serviceable unit. So is the throttlebody. You're probably only going to be able to get it from the dealership.
